Displair was a startup that manufactured next-gen interactive air display screens.
There was a non-screen display which ‘floated’ in mid-air. The ‘air screen’ consisted of vapor particles which didn't leave any traces of moisture. It could have been seen, heard, smelled and touched. Images on the display could have been static or animated, in 2D or 3D.
The startup was founded in 2010, and the device had a huge potential for use in advertising, entertainment, education, and medicine, but due to the technical issues, founders decided to close the operations a few years later.
Displair was an impressive hardware startup, major tech publications like TechCrunch and Mashable, shared its story in 2010s.
